Economic Crash 2015 Looming - Student Loans & Subprime Auto-Title Loans

Dear Bloggers,

I have been really concerned about the exponential growth in student loans and I have drawn my attention more to the rise of subprime auto-title loans to be a major issue that I have only seem Jim Rickards cover recently on the RT program Boom Bust.

Here is the College Inc., the only documentary worthy of being watched on 20/20 Frontline, the last thing I can remember they did was an Elliot Rodger 2014 special, misrepresenting the events surrounding the Isla Vista shooting which makes me sick since it was a hoax, 100% exposed already.
In 2012 I worked at a company known as Westlake Financial Services, Co and helped manage several teams of loan officers at Wilshire Consumer Credit, the child company. It requires some background information to illustrate how this worked out. We ran an Experian Credit score in Buy Program - CRM to track the maximum amount of money we had available to finance to our borrowers. This populated a daybreak value that processed a payment subscription schedule and amount for the customer. For example, with a subprime loan, in 24 months we could lend the borrower $4,075 USD immediately, add on a finance charge of $3,904 USD at a 76.41% Annual Percentage Rate (APR). The primary borrower had a FICO score of 645, with a monthly income of $578 while the co-borrower had a Company Paystub YTD with a monthly job income of $2,609 with a FICO credit score of 592. Westlake Financial Services, Co became a legal registered owner of their 2006 Hyundai Accent with 104,000 miles on it but Wilshire Consumer Credit gave the dealership the BP-CRM to finance the deal structure, and the local dealerships in-turn gave the borrower enough initial capital to purchase their car we owned. On their car registration we were the registered owners and leinholders. The borrower never did and most likely will never own their cars. That's why it's more than honorable just to have a car in your name and always smarter to get a used car. As you can see the Buy Program - CRM, in this framework was mainly utilized for financial processes.

Here is a September 2014 overview of the areas U.S. consumer debt profile, which is still mainly derived from mortgage debt:

Current as of September 2014
U.S. household consumer debt profile:
  • Average credit card debt: $15,607
  • Average mortgage debt: $153,500

In total, American consumers owe:
  • $11.63 trillion in debt
    • An increase of 3.8% from last year
  • $880.5 billion in credit card debt

YELP Rating Appalling for Wilshire Consumer Credit

I was formerly employed with Westlake Financial Services, and worked for its child-company Wilshire Consumer Credit in the Quality Assurance Department. I also worked on Lead Generation with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

My employer took the incorrect action with me and as you can see comments on the forum reflect very unfavorably for Wilshire Consumer Credit (WCC). As you can see all the ratings are 1/5 stars and one of commenter wished he could rate WCC as 0/5.

BEWARE! They are loan sharks! They charge 84% on my $3500 Title loan - which comes to $9700 over 36 months! And the nightmare stories I've read on Internet are horrifying!

This is the worst place to ever get a loan. Very rude customer service. Will not work with you. The moment you're a few days late on your loan they try to repo your vehicle. I truly suggest to never get a loan with these people. Like the first reviewer said. This place is run by satan. They do not care about you.

First off, Hector M. clearly works here, or he is dilusional. Judging by the number of cannabis clinics he has checked into, he may have been high when he wrote his review.

This place couldn't be more awful. It must be run by the offspring of Adolf Hitler and Satan. My husband took out a loan from here over a year ago. I'm quite certain he found them in Satan's yellowpages. The loan has been paid off since June of 2011, and he is still receiving bills, for a renewed loan balance. Every month it's a new amount. They are holding his title loan hostage and keep insisting to him that they will be sending it back at the end of August 2011. It is now the second week in September 2011 and no title.

I decided this morning to check out their rating on the BBB website. Well, I wasn't shocked to find that they have 57 unsatisfied complaints from customers since July 2010. Here is the link for proof. http://www.la.bbb.org/bu…

I read through all 57 complaints and they were appalling.  Threatening calls (one person received threats of bodily harm), repos after one late payment, etc. If my review can deter just one person from this company, I will feel better about it. I really have no idea how to get his car title back from these assholes. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to know.

I wish we had the option to leave NO STARS. This is by far THE worst place EVER. I lost my job and was denied unemployment. I appealed the denial and won, and was back on track. I started going to school and am temporarily not receiving unemployment until I get forms from my school proving that attending school won't interfere with my seeking and accepting employment. I told them this, and they don't give a sh*t. I should have went with my other options. Don't let my dumb a*s mistakes be for nothing. Check out 1-800 LOAN MART. WESTERN SKY for an UNSECURED personal loan or CASHCALL. Those were the other options I had, but failed to take. I used to work for a payday advance company, and had to work with collections...there's a way to be professional, and there's this company, that has no clue about professionalism. If this is your only way...go WITHOUT!!!!

I received the rudest voice mail from this company after being two days late on my payment. I called the company to make a payment over the phone. A drunk guy answers the phone with a loud Mexican music in the background. First thing he said is whats your account number. No greeting, no hello, no introduction, all he said with a drunk slur "whats your account number". This is the most unprofessional company I've dealt with. It seems they just went to the street and picked up some rude, drunk, scum bags to answer their phones. But what would you expect from a loan shark. 85% interest on a car loan. Thanks Express Cash Network for setting people up to use this company. You are destroying people lifes when they are at their lowest point and in need of help. Stay a way from Whilshire Consumer Credit. Its better to starve than deal with these lowlives.

This is the worst company I've ever had the unpleasant experience to deal with by far.  Very rude on the phone, never  helpful.  Stay away from this company at all costs.  They will rip you off and do anything to get your money or your car.

I caution ANYONE to not get a loan with these people. Came back from being out of the country, and tried to make a payment over the computer, and they would not take a payment with a checking account, only through use of a credit card or ATM card. Kind of hard to do, when your wallet was lost or stolen, so I called them up, and told them I would like to make the payment, and they said use a card or go to western union to make the payment. My response was why does it say in the letter that you receive on the bill, that you could make a payment with the checking account, and they said not for your first payment. Reiterated my situation, and they said it sounded like a personal problem. I eventually spoke to 3 others, and ALL of them were extremely rude, and condescending. And this was to make a payment? Wow!!
